Bengali Eggplant Fry

Recipe Brief Description : This is a side dish that can be eaten with rice or just like a snack. A very popular dish in West Bengal.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Eggplant – 1 number
  • Chili powder – 1 tbsp
  • Mustard oil - 3 tbsp
  • Rice flour - 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt - 1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 pinch

    Cooking Time: 15 minutes

    Preparation Method:
  • Wash and cut eggplant into round shape.
  • For marination add chili powder, turmeric, salt, rice flour mix well and apply this mixture to cut eggplants and keep aside.
  • Now, take a non stick pan add oil spread over all the pan, now add the coated brinjal and cook over a very slow flame both the sides.
  • Serve hot as side dish with boiled rice and sambar.
