Chicken Curry

Recipe Brief Description : Traditional dish for non-vegetarian served with rice and ragi ball.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Chicken – 500 grams.
  • Green Chilli – 5-6.
  • Red chilli powder – 2 tbsp.
  • Ginger – 1 inch.
  • Garlic – 5-6 cloves.
  • Turmeric – 1 tbsp.
  • Corriander Leaves – 1/2 cup.
  • Pudina/mint Leaves – 1/2 cup.
  • Cloves - 3-4 pieces
  • Cinnamon - 1 inch pieces
  • Dhania/coriander powder - 2 tbsp.
  • Poppy seeds - 1 tbsp.
  • Tomato - 1 no.
  • Fresh grated coconut - 1/4 cup.
  • Salt for taste.
  • Onion – 2no.

    Cooking Time: 15 minutes

    Preparation Method:
  • Clean the Chicken pieces well and drain all the water thoroughly.
  • Fry all the ingredients in a pan with 1tbsp oil (chilli, ginger, garlic, corriander leaves, pudina leaves, cloves, cinnamon,turmeric,onion,tomato)
  • Grind all the fried ingredients along with poppy seeds and grated coconut.
  • Heat oil in a Kadai/Pan fry chopped onion and then chicken.
  • Add the grinded masala to chicken, salt to taste and add enough of water.
  • Cook for 10 minutes until chicken is well cooked
  • Add water and boil it again if required.
  • Serve hot
