Recipe Brief Description: Spinach dal curry is wonderful combination. This dish is an easy to prepare.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Onion – 2 number (chopped)
  • Spinach – 2 bunch (finely chopped)
  • Tomato - 2 number
  • Split green gram – 1/2 cup
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Ginger – 1 tbsp (chopped)
  • Garlic – 6-7 cloves
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Green chilies – 3-4 numbers
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tbsp
  • Asafoetida – 1 pinch
  • Salt to taste

    Cooking Time: 30 minutes

    Preparation Method:
  • Cook moong dal with half the turmeric powder and asafoetida till soft.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, garlic, ginger, green chilies and stir for few second. Add onion and stir till onion turn to brown in colour.
  • Now, mix in spinach and stir for half minute. Add turmeric, dal and mix well.
  • Add one cup water, salt and stir. Add lemon juice just before serving.
