Recipe Brief Description : A combination of different spices, with out garam masala cooking will not be complete. This can be store for several months in an air-tight container in a cool, dark place.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Coriander seeds – 4 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Black peppercorns - 1 tbsp
  • Dry ginger – 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Black cardamom – 4 pods
  • Cloves - 3/4 tbsp
  • Cinnamon - 2 inch
  • Bay leaves - 3/4 tbsp (crushed)

    Cooking Time: 15 minutes

    Preparation Method:
  • Heat a non stick pan in a medium flame and gently roast all the ingredients, expect the dry ginger.
  • Fry till they turn a few shades darker at a very low flame.
  • When spices are roasted turn off the heat and allow them to cool.
  • Once Cooled, remove the cardamom seeds from their skins and mix them back with all the roasted spices.
  • Grind them all together, to a fine powder. Store in an air-tight container in a cool, dark place.
