Recipe Brief Description : This hesarubele-sabakki payasa is a traditional of South Indian. My mother cooks very deliciously, everyone loves to eat.
Hesarubele / Moong dal – ½ cup
Sago / Sabakki – ½ cup
Milk – 1 cup
Coconut Milk – 1 cup ( extract milk from fresh coconut)
Jaggery – 1 cup
Cardomom / yelakki powder – 1 tbsp
Ghee – 2-3 tbsp
Cashews and Raisins (garnish)
Cooking Time: 25 minutes
Take a pressure cooker fry the hesarubele till light brown and add the sago/sabakki with 1 cup of water for 2 whistle.
In a pan add jaggery and 1 cup of water. Once the jaggery is melted filter it in another bowl adds milk, coconut milk cook for 5 minutes.
To the boiling Milk add the cooked dal (hesarubele and sabakki), mix well and cook for another 5-10 minutes.
Keep stirring or else payasa might stick to the bottom.
Take a small pan add ghee with cashews and raisins and fry.
Finally, garnish with yelakki powder and fried dry fruits.
Yummy, delicious very tasty hesarubele-sabakki payasa is ready. Serve hot.
