Recipe Brief Description : Crispy Karela is delicious Andhra delicacy, flavored with lemon. karela sliced and deep fried.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Bitter gourd – 2 numbers
  • Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric – 1/2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
  • Oil for deep fry

    Cooking Time: 20 minutes

    Preparation Method:
  • Cut karelas into thin slices and place in a plate. Add salt, turmeric powder and mix well. Keep aside for 10mins.
  • Wash them thoroughly and drain on absorbent paper or on cloth.
  • Transfer into a plate and add red chilli powder, tamarind paste and mix well.
  • Heat an oil for deep fry as sufficient required. Deep fry the karela slice till crisp.
  • Transfer on a serving plate, add salt, lemon juice and mix well. Serve hot.
