Recipe Brief Description : Lemon rice is a delicious south Indian dish. Lemon juice gives a very refreshing and tangy flavor to the rice.
Rice – 1 cup (boiled)
Bengal gram – 2 tbsp
Oil – 4 tbsp
Salt to taste
Cumin seed – 1/2 tbsp
Mustard seed - 1/2 tbsp
Turmeric - 2 tbsp
Green chillies - 4-5 numbers (sliced)
Curry leaves - 2 numbers
Ginger - 3 sliced in long
Lemon juice - 3 tbsp
Onion - 3 numbers
Coriander leaves - 3 tbsp (chopped)
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Heat oil in a frying pan on medium heat and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and allow to splutter add curry leaves, green chillies, bengal gram and chopped onion and stir for few seconds.
Add turmeric powder and mix well.
Add the pre-cooked rice, and sprinkle salt and lemon juice over the rice.
Mix gently, make sure do not break the rice and stir for few minutes and finally garnish with coriander leaves. Now lemon rice is ready to serve.
