Recipe Brief Description : Super crispy outside and crunchy inside, made with chana dal and onion.
Chana dal – 250 grams
Onion – 1/2 kg
Green chillies – 4-5 numbers (finely chopped)
Red chillies – 3 numbers
Oil for deep fry
Curry leaves – 4-5 numbers (chopped)
Coriander leaves – 1 bunch (finely chopped)
Dill greens - 1 bunch (finely chopped)
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Soak chana dal in water for about 2-3 hours. Drain and blend in mixer with red chillies to a rough paste.
In a bowl mix in onion, ginger-garlic paste, green chillies, curry leaves, coriander leaves, dill greens and salt to taste.
Heat oil in a kadai. Take lemon sized balls of the dough, flatten them on a greased banana leaf or plastic sheet and deep fry.
