Recipe Name: Methi Thepla
Recipe Main Ingredient: Methi, Gram flour. Wheat flour
Recipe Brief Description : Methi Thepla is a flat bread and is a popular gujarati snack.
Gram flour – 1 cup
wheat flour – 1 cup
Fresh fenugreek – 1 cup
Cumin powder – 1 tbsp
Coriander powder – 1 pinch
Turmeric – 1/2 tbsp
Red chili powder - 1 tbsp
Green chili-ginger paste – 1 tbsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Curd/water – 2 tbsp
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
In a bowl mix all the ingredients except water. Start kneading without adding water the methi (fenugreek) leaves leave a lot of water, just add 1 tbsp or 2 tbsp water if required.
Keep the dough aside for 15-20 minutes covered with a towel.
Now, make medium sized balls from the dough and roll each ball thinly into flat discs.
Heat a frying pan or tava and place the thepla on the pan and fry thepla both the sides by applying oil around thepla.
