Recipe Ingredients

  • Gram flour – 1 cup
  • wheat flour – 1 cup
  • Fresh fenugreek – 1 cup
  • Cumin powder – 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 pinch
  • Turmeric – 1/2 tbsp
  • Red chili powder - 1 tbsp
  • Green chili-ginger paste – 1 tbsp
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Curd/water – 2 tbsp
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

    Cooking Time: 30 minutes

    Preparation Method:
  • In a bowl mix all the ingredients except water. Start kneading without adding water the methi (fenugreek) leaves leave a lot of water, just add 1 tbsp or 2 tbsp water if required.
  • Keep the dough aside for 15-20 minutes covered with a towel.
  • Now, make medium sized balls from the dough and roll each ball thinly into flat discs.
  • Heat a frying pan or tava and place the thepla on the pan and fry thepla both the sides by applying oil around thepla.
