Onion Tomato Gravy

Recipe Ingredients
For the Dumpling

  • Rice – 1 cup (boiled)
  • Dhal – 1 cup (boiled)
  • Mixed Vegetables - 1 cup
  • Rice flour – 3 tbsp
  • Besan flour – 2 tbsp
  • Green chilies – 2 number (chopped)
  • Oil for deep fry
  • Salt to taste
    For the Gravy
  • Tomato paste – 1 cup
  • Onion paste – 1 cup
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Curry powder – 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds powder – 1 tbsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

    Cooking Time: 30 minutes

    Preparation Method:
  • Mix all the dumpling ingredients together and make small dumpling from the mixture.
  • Heat oil for deep frying and fry the dumplings a few at a time. Remove once these are crispy and brown. Drain out the excess oil.
  • Remove most of the oil from the pan, keeping only 2-3tbsp in a pan. Mix in onion paste till light golden brown. Mix in the tomato paste and the ginger-garlic paste with spices and cook till a fine aroma rises about 2-3mins add 3 cup of water, salt and cook for 10mins. Let the gravy thick slightly add the dumplings and put off the heat. Serve with roti.
