Recipe Brief Description : Palak paneer is a popular north Indian recipe. Cheese cooked in spinach based gravy and fresh Indian spices.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Spinach – 3 bunch
  • Paneer – 250 grams (cut into small cubes)
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Bay leaf – 3-4 numbers
  • Tomato pure - 1 cup
  • Onion paste - 1 cup
  • Ginger - 7-8 flakes
  • Garlic - 1 inch
  • Green chillies - 2 numbers
  • Sugar - 1 pinch
  • Salt to tast
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Red chillie powder - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Garm masala - 3/4 tbsp
  • Mango powder - 3/4 tbsp
  • Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Butter - 1 tbsp
  • Fresh cream - 1 tbsp

    Cooking Time: 30 minutes

    Preparation Method:
  • Remove spinach leaves from steam and wash leaves well.
  • Heat 2 cup of water and add spinach, onion, green chili, ginger and garlic with a pinch of sugar to it. Let it boil for 10-15 minutes.
  • Switch of the heat and let the spinach mix cool down.
  • Blend this spinach mixer in a blender and make a thick paste.
  • Heat a big bottomed pan add oil and butter to it , when the oil is hot add cumin seeds and allow to spluttering now add tomato paste and stir for 5-6 minutes on medium heat.
  • Then add spinach paste along with spices like turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garm masala powder, salt and dry mango powder. Let it cook for 5 minutes.
  • Now, mix in fried paneer cheese and mix well and cover the lid and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Take it out in a serving bowl and garnish with fresh cream and serve hot with rotis.
