Recipe Brief Description : Palak Thepla is a very popular food in Gujarat. This is a very healthy type of dish. Serve hot with pickle.
Palak – 1 cup (wash and finely chopped)
Wheat flour – 1 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
Garam masala powder – 1 tbsp
Coriander powder - 2 tbsp
Red chili powder - 1 tbsp
Mustard oil - 2 tbsp
Water as required
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
In a bowl, add wheat flour, salt turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander powder, red chili powder, palak and mustard oil, mix well.
Add enough water to make a dough of rolling consistency and cover it and keep aside for 15 minutes.
Then make small balls and roll them like parathas.
Heat a tawa and place the rolled thepla on tawa, cook it gently by pressing it with cloth and cook until it turn brown spot on bottom side.
Flip and cook on other side. Once it has done take out from tawa. Serve hot or cold palak thepla with pickle.
