Recipe Brief Description : Palak Thepla is a very popular food in Gujarat. This is a very healthy type of dish. Serve hot with pickle.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Palak – 1 cup (wash and finely chopped)
  • Wheat flour – 1 1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder – 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder - 2 tbsp
  • Red chili powder - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard oil - 2 tbsp
  • Water as required

    Cooking Time: 20 minutes

    Preparation Method:
  • In a bowl, add wheat flour, salt turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander powder, red chili powder, palak and mustard oil, mix well.
  • Add enough water to make a dough of rolling consistency and cover it and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  • Then make small balls and roll them like parathas.
  • Heat a tawa and place the rolled thepla on tawa, cook it gently by pressing it with cloth and cook until it turn brown spot on bottom side.
  • Flip and cook on other side. Once it has done take out from tawa. Serve hot or cold palak thepla with pickle.
