Split Green Gram Thove

Recipe Brief Description: This Moong Dal recipe which served with any kind of flatbread of a comfort food.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Split green gram – 1 cup
  • Onion - 2 numbers (chopped)
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 tbsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves – 2 numbers
  • Coriander – 1/2 bunch (chopped)
  • Coconut - 2 tbsp (grated)
  • Green chilies - 3 numbers (chopped)
  • Garam masala - 1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric - 1/2 tbsp
  • Red chili powder - 1/4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

    Cooking Time: 20 minutes

    Preparation Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chopped onion, green chilies, curry leaves, salt and stir for 1mins. Now, add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala.
  • Now, mix in split green gram, stir and add 2 cup water close it with a lid and cook till the split green gram is tender.
  • Once the split gram is tender garnish with chopped coriander leaves and grated coconut.
