Stuffed Chilli Bajjis

Recipe Brief Description : This is a famous evening snack of north karnataka. Made with large chillies, besan and stuffed with green chutney.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Long light Green chillies – 200 grams (slit in the center and remove the seeds)
  • Besan flour – 1/2 cup
  • Cooking soda – 1 pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep fry
  • Water as required
    For Stuffing
  • Mint leaves - 1 bunch
  • Coriander leaves 1 1 small bunch
  • Green chillies 2 numbers
  • Cumin seeds powder 1 tbsp
  • Tamarind 1 small ball
  • Salt to taste

    Cooking Time: 15 minutes

    Preparation Method:
  • Blend all the stuffing ingredients, and make green chutney, keep aside.
  • Mix in besan, salt, soda and add water to make batter as required.
  • Stuff the chutney into the chillies.
  • Deep each chilli into the besan batter.
  • Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry all the chillies which has dipped in batter and fry till golden brown. And serve hot.
