Thali Pettu (Masala Roti)

Recipe Brief Description : It is a very common breakfast in North Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Jowar flour – 100 grams
  • Rice flour – 50 grams
  • Gram flour – 25 grams
  • Onion – 2 nos. (chopped)
  • Chilli – 2-3 nos. (chopped)
  • Carrot – 2 nos. (grated)
  • Coriander leaf – ¼ cup (chopped)
  • Methi leaf – ¼ (chopped)
  • Coconut – ½ cup (grated)
  • Jeera – 1 tbsp
  • Garlic and Ginger – 1 tbsp (paste)
  • Turmeric powder a pinch

    Cooking Time: 15 minutes

    Preparation Method:

  • Take a bowl add the Jowar flour, Rice flour, gram flour, fine chopped (onion, chilli, coriander leaf, Methi leaf), grated (carrot, coconut), jeera, garlic & ginger paste, turmeric powder and salt to taste.
  • Mix it well and add enough of water till the dough is completely immersed.
  • Make the dough into ball and pat it on a plastic paper or cloth using oil/water.
  • Now heat the tava, put the patted dough on tava with 2 tbsp of oil on both the side. Fry until it is done.
    Thali pettu is the best healthy break fast! Serve with butter.
