Uppittu / Upma

Recipe Brief Description : Common Breakfast prepared very easily with Rava and taste's good with lots of onions.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Bansi Rava – 1 cup.
  • Onion – 3 medium size (chopped nicely).
  • Carrot – 1 grated.
  • Chilli – 6 to 7 (sliced evenly).
  • Ginger – 1 small inch (smashed).
  • Tomato – 1 small (chopped).
  • Curry leaves little.
  • Corriander leaves for garnishing.
  • Cashew nuts little for taste(optional).
  • Oil – 4 - 5 spoons

    Cooking Time: 10 minutes

    Preparation Method:
  • Fry Bansi Rava in a pan until u get a nice smell or light brown in color.
  • Take one more vessel, heat it and put oil.
  • Add mustard seeds wait till it splutter.
  • Put chopped onion, chillies, curry leaves, cashews and ginger.Fry nicely then add tomato.
  • Keep frying for 2 mins.
  • Add water to the vessel as required 1:3.Put rava slowly to the water when it is boiling and stir equally.
  • Close the vessel in a lid until it is cooked. Keep mixing the contents often and later switch off the gas.
  • Garnish with corriander leaves and serve hot.

    Yummy Uppittu/Upma is ready to eat
